We’ve
visited Meyer Werft Shipyard on May 14,
2010.
We already booked our tickets for the
guided tour a couple of weeks in
advance. We just wanted to be sure and
if we didn’t, we couldn’t have visited
the wharf. It was that busy.
After
a 3,5 hour drive we arrived in
Papenburg. First we went to the hotel
and checked in there.
Then we went to the town hall for our
tickets and for the bus ride to the
wharf. An explanation, a movie and an
exhibition about the wharf & ship making
gave us a good idea about the wharf and
their work.
The Westerdam, Holland America Line was
made here, the ship we did our first
cruise with. After the movie we got to
the exhibition about the Disney Dream.

This exhibition gave a good impression
on how the Disney Dream will be. A lot
of pictures and art models to show the
inside of the Dream as well as a piece
of the tube of the Aqua Duck and a cabin
with a virtual porthole.
Yes, we are ready to sail the Disney
Dream! Then the most important view: a
view on the ship itself. A lot of work
needs to be done, but the ship is there,
the stacks are already up, no Aqua Duck
yet. Normally in November the Dream
will go home. |
